BookDirect. Is it worth the effort?
Google doesn't care, OTAs and Managers dominate search. Should an owner work toward a Book Direct strategy (&/or use an OTA) or adopt a professional manager?
The #BookDirect movement is alive and kicking but constantly oppressed by OTA and large platform search dominance. The short-term rental sector is aligned with hotels' displeasure at the e-comms approach to commission generation, guest control and marketing directions.
The question on Book Direct: Is it worth the effort? You will need Google, and Google is not your friend. You will need to figure out how to compete with and game the OTAs but also to compete with managers too. Why not make your life simpler?
